FSO-SR Cheyne Scoby Cheyne Scoby:
FSO-SR - Secretary/Records

Cheyne grew up in and around the ocean in Santa Barbara, CA. After graduating UCSB in 2006 with a B.Sc. in physics, he moved to Los Angeles where he continues his graduate studies at UCLA in accelerator physics. He recently discovered the joys of dinghy sailing at the UCLA Marine Aquatic Center where he learned to sail the Capri 14.2, Vanguard 15, and Olympic-class Laser. His newly found love of boating and maritime safety led him to join the Coast Guard Auxiliary in 2008.

His Auxiliary qualifications include Vessel Examiner, Marine Dealer Program Visitor, and Boat Crew, TCT, and ICS-100, 200, 700, and 800. His next certification goals include Instructor, Telecoms PQS, AUXCOM, Radio Watchstander, and Air Observer.

When not in the lab or on the water, Cheyne is an amateur choral singer with the UCLA Chorale, Chamber Singers, and Men's Choir. He also plays flute, piano, racquetball, and tennis in his spare time.
