FSO-MS (Marine Safety); FSO-DV (Diversity)
Mindy grew up in the plains of Texas, but with her love of being in and near the water she soon gravitated to Los Angeles. Since her grandfather had been a Major General in the US Air Force, Mindy participated in the University of Texas Air Force ROTC program as a cadet for two years before leaving to pursue other interests. The call to service and her love of the ocean drew her to join the US Coast Guard Auxiliary in August of 2010 and Mindy now feels that she has found an organization that she will be part of for life.
Her Auxiliary qualifications include ICS 100, 200, 210, 700, and 800, Marine Dealer Program Visitor, TCT, Boat Crew Member, Good Mate, IMSEP, and she is currently working towards earning her AuxOp qualification. She holds the offices of FSO-MS, FSO-DV, SO-DV, and ADSO-DV.
She works for a computer company as a technician and with little spare time she also co-organizes the Los Angeles chapter of a fan-based charity group, plays organized sports, scuba dives, and plays bagpipes in the 42nd Highlanders Pipes and Drums. Mindy travels, and is a published author of fiction.
